birth. Diversities of works give each his special works. Here he contradicts from Gita which advocates inborn diversities. Every soul is associated with a particular kind of body it deserves. Being embodied, its consciousness is limited by the conditions of the organs of knowledge and the body it possesses. The Soul’s birth is due to its ignorance. Ignorance generates merits and demerits. It obscures the essential nature of soul and affinity with God. The meditation on God destroys ignorance. In Kutalh the importance of meditation is delt with. One can get anything he wishes if he does penance in this world (265). To enter the realms above the powers devine, he has to kill, “I’ and “Mine” (346). When the clings fall off and knowledge of truth is obtained (349) birth departs (358). Eor attaining the wishes, perception of the “Five' must all expire and all possessions must be abandoned (343, 344). “If one avoids lust and wrath and error pain shall be no more (360). When the desires are driven from Soul, it gains the blissful state (370). When doubts disperse, the soul is nearer to Heaven (356). Self-Control leads to bliss. One who restrains his five sense organs like tortoise, obtains bliss in seven worlds (126). When soul is liberated it dwells with bliss. Sorrow never assails, who have drawn nearer to the foot of Him (4) No false ideas of right and wrong can cloud, those who delight with fervent mind to praise the true and only Lord of Heaven and Earth (5). Unless men gain His feet, it’s hard for mind to find relief from anxious pain and for getting birthless state (7). Those who pursue the path of his true-law, will dwell in never ending bliss (6). The neverending bliss is described by Thirunhaavukkaracar in his Theevaaram (585). 442
