central processing unit, CPU - The principal operating and controlling part of a computer. In micro computer the CPU is a microprocessor. மைய முறையாக்கு அலகு, சிபியூ : மையச் செயலகம். கணிப்பொறியின் கட்டுப்படுத்தும் பகுதி, இயக்கும் பகுதி. நுண் கணிப்பொறியில் மையச் செயலகம் நுண் முறையாக்கி ஆகும்.
central processing unit, components of - மைய முறையாக்கு அலகின் பகுதிகள் : இவ்வலகு மனித மூளை போன்றது. இதிலுள்ள மூன்று முக்கியப் பகுதிகள் 1) கட்டுப்பாட்டு அலகு. 2) எண் கணித முறைமை அலகு. 3) பதிவகங்கள்.
chain - A sequence of events linked together so that the completion of one event begins the next. தொடர் : இணைப்புள்ள நிகழ்ச்சி வரிசை. இதனால் ஒரு நிகழ்ச்சி முடியும் பொழுது, அடுத்த நிகழ்ச்சி தொடங்கும்.
chaining - A method of storing records for easy identification. தொடராக்கல் : எளிதாக அடையாளங் கண்டறியப் பதிவுருக்களைச் சேமித்து வைக்கும் முறை.
chain printer - A high speed printer. தொடர் அச்சியற்றி : ஓர் உயர் விரைவு அச்சியற்றி.
channel - The part of a computer system doing input and output functions. செல்வழி : உட்பலன் வெளிப் பலன் வேலைகளைச் செய்யும் கணிப்பொறியின் பகுதி.
channel width - The number of bits handled simultaneously by a communications channel. செல்வழி அகலம் : ஒரே சமயத்தில் ஒரு தகவல் தொடர்புச் செல்வழி கையாளும் இருமிகளின் எண்ணிக்கை.
character - Any letter, number or symbol produced on a keyboard for display on a VDU. உரு : காட்சித் திரையில் தோன்றும் எழுத்து, எண் மற்றும் குறி. விசைப் பலகைச் சாவியைத் தட்டி இதைச் செய்யலாம்.
