Ramalingam was under an initiator, sage Chidambara Munivar, at Thiruvotriyur as his poem reveals. Afterwards a number of scholars began to be enlightened by our divine poet. Several works, such as Ozhivil Odukkam, were edited by him. He also wrote commentaries on a few poems. He was editor of a monthly called Sanmarka Viveka vruthi which is now edited by Uran Adigal. From there, he used to visit Chidambaram and Vadaloor. These two places, he styled as Poorvagnana Chidambaram and Uttaragnana Chidambaram respectively. He composed poems there and started the sangam with a few devotees. A number of devotees gave him about 80 acres of land at Vadalur to build the HALL OF UNIVERSAL WORSHIP and the GUARDIAN HOME OF DEVOTEES to be administrated by the council of Pure Real Guiding Light Path. He erected the Sathia Gnana Sabha, the Satya Dharma Sala and the Suttha Sanmarka Satya Sangam. The donated land there is known as Vadalur Peru veli, meaning the Grand space of Vadalur, the spotless placc.
