Ancestors of
Shahji
The first in the line of Bhosala family was Narayana from whom descended Suryanarayana.

From Suryanarayana came Manu and in his lineage was born Ikshvahu.

In his line, in Kaliyuga, Sambhu of Mt. Sambhu became the ruler of Maharashtra.

His son was Ekoji (I).

By the blessings of Lord Sambha Siva, Sarabha Raja I was born to Ekoji (I),

Sarabha Raja (I) always meditated upon Somaskanda, and got himself initiated with “Mantras”. The Padsha conferred on him the jagir of Pinthalipura. The son of Sarabha Rajah was Mahasena.

Mahasena begot fifty sons and the eldest was Eka Siva Raja.

His son was Ramachandra Raja and Ramachandra's son was Bhima Raja.

Bhima Raja's son was Ekoji (II).

Ekoji Raja got possession of the fort of Satara and his son was Varaha Raja.

Varaha Raja had 55,000 cavalry and waged war witn the Padsha successfully. His son was Ekoji (III).

Ekoji (III)'s son was Bramhaji.

Brahmaji's wife was Anusa and their son was Sahaji (I).

Sahaji (I) married Umavu and they had a son called Ambaji.

Ambaji's wife was Renukavu and their son was called Parasoji.
