உற்ற தேகத்தை உயிர் மறந்தாலும்
utra dhēhaththai սy ir marandhdhaalum உயிரை மேவிய உடல் மறந்தாலும்
uyirai méviya udal marandhdhaalum கற்ற நெஞ்சகம் తడిమ மறந்தாலும்
Katra nenjagam Kalai marandhdhaalum கண்கள் நின்று இமைப்பது மறந்தாலும் Kanngall nindru imaippadu m irandhdhaalum நல்தவத்தவர் உள் இருந்து ஒங்கும் Nalthavaththavar ullirundhu Ծ Dlggum
நமச்சி வாயத்தை நான் மறவேனே Namachchi vaayaththai Пlaа П. marra vēnē.
பெற்று வளர்த்த தாயைக் குழந்தை மறந்தாலும்பெற்ற பிள்ளையை தாய் மறந்தாலும்புகுந்த இந்த உடம்பை (அதில் உள்ள) உயிர் மறந்தாலும் - உயிரை அது பொருந்தி இருக்கிற உடம்பு மறந் தாலும்படித்திருக்கிற (அறிவு பொருந்திய) மனம் தான் கற்ற கலைகளே
மறந்து போனலும்கண்கள் தாம் இமைக்கும் தொழிலே மறந்து போகுலும்நல்ல தவம் செய்யும் தவசிகளின் மனத்தில் ஓங்கி இருக்கிற 'நமசிவாய’’ என்னும் (திருநாம) மந்திரத்தை நான்
மறக்கமாட்டேன்.
Even if the child should forget the mother that begot, Even if the mother should forget her child, Even if the soul should forget the body abiding, Even if the body should forget the soul manifest,
Even if the mind erudite should forget its learning, Even if the eyesshould forget to wink (or glitter).
NAMASIVAYA which the ascetics virtuous intone –
I forget not.
