Simple fracture is a clean break in the bone without the ends puncturing through the skin. 2. Compound fracture is one in which the broken ends peep through the skin. 3. Complicated fracture is one in which the broken ends of bones are shattered into many pieces. This may be simple or compound. What are the general symptoms of fractures? 1. Pain at or near the place of fracture. 2. Sweiling around the place of fracture. 3. Limitation of hormal movements of the area. 4. Deformity of the limbs and irregulrity of the bone. 57
