விளக்கம் : குன்றத்துக் குறவனின் அன்புக்குரிய இளமையான மகள் ஊர்ப் பொதுவில் உள்ள வேங்கை மரத்தின் மலர்களில் சிலவற்றைக் கொண்டு, மலையில் வாழும் கடவுளான தங்களின் குல தெய்வத்தை வாழ்த்தி, இனிய பலியுணவைப் படைத்த ஈரமுள்ள நறிய கையினையுடையவள், மலர்ந்த காந்தளைப் போல மணம் வீசி, கலங்கி அழும் கண்களையுடையவள் என்னைப் பெரிதும் வருத்தியவள்.

Ainkurunūru 259, Kapilar, Kurinji Thinai – What the hero said The mountain dweller’s beloved delicate daughter makes sweet offerings of flowers from vēngai trees in the common grounds, with her wet, fragrant hands, to the ancient clan deity who resides in the mountains.

She is fragrant like a kānthal blossom, the teary-eyed woman who afflicts me.

Notes: The hero sends his family elders to the heroine’s family with a marriage proposal. Her family rejects their proposal. The heroine is very sad. She prays to god at night. The hero comes there.
