' கண்ணல் - குறித்திடல் , கண் முதனிலைத் தொழிற் பெயர், ஏ.பிரி நிலை. ' -கோ. இ. ' கண்ணுயினர் என்பதற்குக் கண்ணுகக் கொண்டவர் என்பாரு முளர். HH -அ. கு. ' காரியத்திலேயே கண் வைத்தவர் எனவும் உரைக்கலாம்.
