45OO. துறவு-மெய்யுணர்வின்பம் 339 As the first-born son presented by a virtuous wife, to a husband, who has attained the shore of the sea of knowledge, is the bliss which appears in the contemplation of truth to those who have entirely renounced the world : compared to which, all that is past is but pain. —H. S. Like the first-born presented to the husband, who has sounded the depths of knowledge, by his chaste consort, the beatific visions of truth that float in the holy sage constitute real happiness. All else is evil and painful. —C. M. To those who have completely renounced the World, the happiness born of realisation of truth is the great bliss. All the rest is merely pain : even as to a learned husband, the first-born of a virtuous wife is a Source of joy. —T. B. K.
