MESSAGE I am happy to learn that the Directorate of Tamil Etymological Dictionary Project is organizing Tamil Dictionary Day Valedictory function on 11th March 2020 at Dr. MGR Medical University, Guindy, Chennai and that a special souvenir is being released to mark the occasion. I congratulate all of them and wish the function all success. Language is used as an instrument to express the human power of knowledge and the emotional feelings. It also functions as a media to deliver the culture, knowledge of Science and the global vision to next generation. It also plays an important role to connect the past and the present. Language is growing with human beings. It also takes an important place for the development of human society, cultural growth, historical and global recorded evidences. If there is no range of the brightness of language, we will be put into darkness and facing a lot of sufferings. To save a language means to use it continuously in day to day life. It is our duty to collect and compile the rich and fertile words and save them for the above said purpose. I am glad to note that the Directorate of Tamil Etymological Dictionary Project is also celebrating the birth anniversary of Veeramamunivar, the father of the Tamil Dictionary, on this momentous occasion. I convey my warm felicitations to the organizers of the Tamil Dictionary Day Function and extend my greetings to the participants.
