42. Cheemi-p-paththu The saint resorts to bridal mysticism in the third verse where he calls upon the maidens to look upon him. He expatiates that their heads will rest on the Feet of the Knight Who has commanded their services snatching their souls along with the bangles on their hands. (42:3). What is this snatching of bangles? According to the science of love in Tamil Literature, a maiden in love will pine for her lover and will be so much reduced that the bangles on her hands will slip down. The poetic thought assumes that the lover has not only snatched away her soul but also her bangles. Further, it may be observed that there lies a secret when he announces that the Effulgence will abolish the unreality of his worm-filled body (8). Wonderfully enough, here is an excellent verse (5) bearing the quintessence of this decad, “Fruition of Bliss”. The Lord, as the saint sings, in His Grace expressed in very clear terms showing, “Behold These roseate flowery Feet in your frame (head) as Ambrosia wells up and wells up in your body”. The saint visualised them flourishing eternally on his head and enjoyed supreme Bliss.(5). 775
