Thiru-vaarththai “They will be our supernal God who can understand the divine will of our mighty Lord decked with pure white ash, the Effulgence, the Lord of Mahendra mountain, the Eesaan Who coming in His Grace placed the Feet which the devaas worship, the Southerner, the Ruler of Perunthurai, in showing His Mercy to me, in showing His jewelled feet to me while I with increasing love thawed and melted in ridding my misery and in graciously making me His own.” (43.9) “They will be our supernal God who can understand the mystery of our Lord of beautiful eyes, the great Lord of the Immortals, Ambrosia to His devotees, our Lord who came down to the earth, the King to Perumthurai, the skilled One in arriving with merchandise that day in Madurai thronged with damsels and in snatching their bangles that their great paasam (bond) may cease and that they may gain Bliss here and in heaven.” (43:10) 783
