Decad: 50 Aananda Maalai (The garland of Bliss) Sub-title:Civaanubava Viruppam (The desire for the experience of Civan) (Sung at Thillai) Aananda(m) = Bliss; Maalai = garland; Civaanubava(m) = experience of Civan; Viruppam=desire. This decad of the garland of bliss is made up of seven verses of four lines each in Aasiriya Viruththam metre. “All those who have reached the flower-like Feet, bright like lightning, have gone beyond the vast world. All the immortals are worshipping You with flowers beautiful like gold. Tell me how some one like me who having a mind like a stone has been spurned as a base one and has fallen in the sea of distress may unite with You hence-forth”. (50:1) “You gave me a status not understood by me, but I without knowing it, have been ruined. It is none of Your fault. I ask You ! Oh my Owner | Who am I to be a slave unto You?
