Decad: 50 Aananda Maalai (The Garland of Bliss) Sub-title: Civaanubava Viruppam (The Desire for the experience of Civon) Abstract: The saint in the Decadof Garland of Bliss recollects the past events and entreats the Lord to bestow His Grace that he may merge with Him in eternal Bliss. He is tempted to question, “When is the wretch to join You Who made me Your own, sans wisdom, by showing me how to get God-mad, by showing me the pathway to reach You and by showing me Your Form that Imay ascend to the land from where there is no return?”(3). He asks how he who has beenspurned as a basecne and who has falleninto thesea of misery may unite with Him(1). Recollecting that God gave him that supremestatus not understood by him.(1) he asks whether He Who once accepted the slavery of even the curatong with others, has no pity for him later and begs to bestow His Grace at least henceforth? (5). He pleads that if He were not to confer His Grace on him and if He would not say, Ah! Ah!” (Come here) who is there indeed to tell him “Dont Fear?" (6) He deplores in anguish that he does not know what is to be done(7) as he is perplexed and prays for His expressive holy hint to unite with Him henceforth and enjoy supreme Bliss as contemplated in the sub-title of this decad. Further it may be pointed out that the saint poses the same question of the decad of union (27).
