இணைப்பு-உ H. An extract from Robert Orme's “History of the Military transactions of the British Nation in Indostan ” (1861) P. 565. The king (of Travancore)............agreed to act with a considerable force in conjunction with Mahomed Issoof against Vadagherri and the Puli Tevar.......... He (Mahomed Issoof) then proceeded directly against Vedagherri: When arrived near Shencottah, he was joined by an army full as large as his own, consisting of 10,000 more of the king's troops. .......... This was perhaps the greatest force that had been assembled for some centuries in this country. Vadagherri defended his woods for a day, in which about 100 men were killed and wounded on both sides; but in the night abandoned his fort, and escaped away to the Puli Tevar at Nellitangaville, As soon as this agreement was settled, the Travancore moved again in conjunction with his troops. On the 6th of November (1759), they infested the wood and fort of Easaltever, which was one of the dependencies of the Puli Tevar. The colleries defended the wood three days,
