OF "The Tamil Museum and Review of Oriental Philology," containing Part I. of the Tholcapya-Nunnool, or, A Com- parative Reference Edition of the Tholcapyam and the Nunnool, the most ancient and the only standard sys- tems of Grammatical literature in Tamil, with Examples, and Notes Critical and Explanatory. The first Appendix contains a complete Synopsis of the whole of the Dra- vidian Philology, and an account of the standard Au- thors and Commentators. The second Appendix comprises the hitherto unpublished Original Texts or Sootrums of the Second and Third Books of Tholcapyan, for the pe- rusal of students as well as tutors. The entire work is designed to be hereafter amplified as a large Com- parative Classical and Colloquial Commentary of Sanscrit, Tamil, and English Syntax, containing not only all the opinions of Native Writers, but also the best points of Beschi's, Rhenius', and Caldwell's Treatises, to aid those who, either in connection with educational institutions, or independently, may engage in translations, or in compilations of original works, for the benefit of the people of this country.
