Psychology :
The definitions vary from time to time to keep pace with the advancement of psychology. “Psychology is a science of human behaviour’. This is one of the modern and current definitions of psychology. Human mind is the cradle of thousands of desires. The human mind is dominated by two major factors, viz., “I” ness and ‘my’ ness. “I'mess is the result of arrogance, egoism and egotism and ‘my’ness is the outcome of excessive desires and selfishness. With the help of scientific and technical know how of modern days, it is possible to measure the height of the tallest mountain and fathom the depth of the deepest ocean. But, it is practically impossible to measure the desires that are found in the human mind even by the most outstanding and leading authority on psychology. The desires found in the human mind are so intensive and extensive that they could be neither mathematically calculated nor psychologically estimated. In short, the human mind consists of a huge ocean of desires. “Desire has no boundary’ goes a proverb (* Aasaikkuoor alavillai* — Tamil ; * Aasvge meyeilla" – Kannada). This proverb stands as a challenge to every psychologist.
