One of the noteworthy achievements to his credit was the shaping of his younger brother Subbiah Pillai in his mould, the future Managing Director of the Publishing Soceity, which owes its superb and enviable position in the book publishing field to him. Arangar, a hard Taskmaster given a rigid training to his brother in the ways and methods of developing this publishing house. Subbiah Pillai, in turn, proved worthy of the confidence and brought name and fame to the Soceity by his strenuous efforts. He made it hum with activity and stands as monument to the memory of his brother 'Arangar'.
The biographer deserves to be feliciated for the masterly way in which he has mobilised almost all the important facts of Arangar's life and marshalled them in logical sequence, using forceful and inimitable language with flourish and fragrance. Even those evincing not much interest in the book as a biography, would get fascinated to read and re-read it for sheer enjoyment and the wonderful way in which the biographer had woven his fabric in beautiful prose.
