xi he was conferred the title of Siva Neri Chelvar by the Head of Thirugnaana Sambandar Math at Madurai and for his research in Epigraphy he was offered the title of Kalvettu Aaraychi Puluvar by Gnaana prakasar Math at Kanchipuram. The value of his work cannot be estimated. He spared no pain from the beginning to push through the copying, paraphrasing translating thus finalising the manuscript ready for print, and doing every work connected with the printing of this book. I wish to record my sincere and heartfelt thanks to Vidwan Thiru Krishnamurthy for fulfilling his promise by completing this publication and at the same time finalising all arrangements for release of the first edition in Madras, Tamil Nadu. The transliteration of the stanzas is one of the special features in this series. Thiru K. M. Gopinath, B.Sc., the eldest son of my friend Thiru K. M. Krishnamurthy, has been kind enough to write out the transliteration for all stanzas. He spared no pains and I am grateful to him. My thanks are also due to him. I wish also to place an record my sincere thanks to Dr. N. Mahalingam, President of the Ramalingar Pani Manram of India for getting this book prepared and printed at his cost. I am indeed very grateful to the Natal Tamil Vedic Society for having extended me their encouragement and blessing to fulfil my life’s ambition. My humble salutations are also submitted to the Omnipotent and Omniscient Lord for guiding us all unseen in this field of propagation of these hymns so sweet and attractive even to Him. All praise be to His Grace I N.C. Naidoo Chairman Natal Tamil Vedic Society (Provincial Body)
