மறுநாள் காலை தில்லைவாழ் அந்தணர்கள் சிற்சபையில் பஞ்சாக்கரைப் படியில் ஒர் ஏட்டுச் சுவடி இருப்பதைக் கண்டார்கள். அதில் "மாணிக்கவாசகன் சொல்ல அழகிய சிற்றம்பலம் உடையான் கையெழுத்து" என்று எழுதி இருந்தது. இதனைக் கண்ட மாண்பிக்கவாசகர் தாம் பிறவிப் பயனைப் பெற்றதாகப் பெரு மகிழ்ச்சி கொண்டார். தில்லை வாழ் அந்தணர்கள், "இப்ப்ாடல்களுக்கு பொருள் աո3յ:" என்று கேட்டனர். மாணிக்கவாசகர், "இப்பாடல்களுக்கு பொருள் நடராசப் பெருமானே!" என்று சுட்டிக்காட்டினார். காட்டியவாறே நடராசப் பெருமானுடைய திருவடிகளில் இரண்டறக் கலந்தார். மார்கழித் திங்களில் சைவர்கள் போற்றும் திருவெம்பாவை மாணிக்கவாசகர் அருளிச் செய்த பக்திப் பணியாகும். "பாவை பாடிய வாயால் கோவை பாடுக!" எனறு இறைவன் கேட்டுக் கொண்டதிற்கிணங்க "திருக்கோவையார்" என்னும் அகத்துறை இலக்கியத்தையும் மாணிக்கவாசகர் இயற்றினார் என்பர். திருவாசகமும், திருக்கோவையாரும், பன்னிரு திருமுறைகளுள் எட்டாந் திருமுறையாக விளங்குகின்றன. MANICKKAVAASAGAR Manickkavaasagar gave us "Thiruvachagam", a collection of soul stirring devotional songs in praise of the Lord. He was born in Thiruvathavur near Madurai. Therefore he is known as Thiruvathavurar. Thiruvathavurar was proficient in arts and other matters of importance and knowledge. So he became the minister of the ruler - "Ari Marthana Pandian". _ One day, the King gave a large quantity of gold and asked Vathavurar to purchase horses for the King's army. - The Lord decided to make Vathavurar his disciple. He went as a guru under the shade of a "Kuruntha" tree near "Thiruperunthurai". Vathavurar came by that way and prostrated before the sage. He got the blessings of the Lord, and got Siva Gnanam.
