Decad: 2 Koil mooththa thiruppathikann Sub-title: Anaathiyaakiya satkaariyam (Eternal true event) Abstract: Anaathi = beginningless, Aakiya = that which is, sat = true; Kaariyam = event. This decad is one of the best poems in Thiruvaachakam as this contains the sweetest songs telling the saddest thoughts in thrilling melodious strain. The saint pleads “If You do not tarry for me and if You do not graciously say “Come along”! Won’t Your devotees ask “who is this fellow?” (2). “They all laugh, exult, delight expound Your glory, listen to it praise and cry “Oh Lord Shall I remain a despicable dog before them 7"(9) He is languished “If You do not bestow the sacred vision of Your face I will perish” (3) “If You remain silent like ghee in the milk set for curdling and if I happen to die without receiving Your grace won’t they laugh?”(5,8) He is pained “What else can I do other than weeping with worry whether You would take pity to bestow Your grace on me 2"(4) and as he has sung elsewhere : “Oh Honey! Oh Ambrosia 1 I myself am a lie. My heart is a lie. My love too is a lie. But if I afflicted by Karma would weep, I could gain You “ ”(5:90). So he wept and wept to achieve His grace and earned the name of the saint who reached His feet by means of weeping. 555
