Decad:26 Athicaya-p-paththu (Decad of wonder) Sub-title: Muththi llakkanam (Characteristics of Deliverance) Abstract: In this Decad of wonder the saint is pained for his stupidity as he languished over the charms of damsels instead of melting his mind and worshipping the Lord with fresh flowers (1,5). He feels miserable that he mistook his small rotten hut of fleshy walls filled with worms and Karma as real and whirled into the sea of sorrow (7) and was leading to hell (4). Even then God has bestowed His grace on him and joined him in the band of His saints (1to 10). The saint feels that it is a mystic event of wonder as God has been gracious enough to show mercy even to the base cur of a fool. The saint narrates his spiritual development in the eighth stanza. Ere-while he was in the presence of God Who banished him and bade him to enter a human body. He looked at him; made subtle and brief words; cleaned him and finally made him sparkling effulgence and then He joined him into the band of His saints. This appears to be the" characteristics of deliverance” as the sub-title of the decad indicates. The saint has given out that the real goal of gaining this human body is to catch hold of the infinite transcendent Being Who emerges out and pervades as sweet fragrance from fragrant flowers(9). Perhaps this means to see God in the human body.
