The soul in its process of emancipation from the bonds. gets freed from them by the grace of God. The purification of Mahamaayai is dealt with in this Decad. Decad (20) thiruppalli ezhuchchi deals with the purification of Thirothaamam. Therefore when these two different aspects of pure Maaya; are purified the Grace of God is bestowed on the soul. Further the saint addresses God as Effulgence, Flame. Lamp of encompassing light and so on and recalls His appearance under the Kurrintham trt:Յ: Gi". Thirupperunthurai. He sings “If I the slave call upon You again and again won't You in Your grace say Don’t fear! Come on 1 This is the path to enter Kailas! Get up from the billowy sea of birth to join me?” How can this request of the saint be a “plea for death?". Instead this decad is of purification of the soul from Mahaamaayai and a plea for grace to enter the path of Bliss. The use of the word Arti--Grace--at the end of all the ter verses of this poem not only signifies the title of the Decad--Plea for grace--but also that His Grace in needed for the purification of the soul. By the act of grace of God the soul is freed and purified from the different aspects of delusion such as thirothaanam and Mahaamaayai favouring the flow of His grace more and more. 42
