Thiruppaandi-p-pathikam "When the supreme Paandianaar Who mehts the bones of devotees who praise Him that they may cross the sea of birth which springs out of evil Karma pervading their mind, arrives mounted on His steed, the slender creeper-like maidens (devotees) whose senses have been usurped by Him assume a wooden nature forgetting themselves and have ceased to know who they are "" (36:9) "Oh you people without faith ! Draw near and align yourself firmly with the very Feet of the unique Knight who having overcome the god of death and having gained victory over the five Kings (senses) was seated in state along with His great Goddess and Who received from the Meenawan (the king whose banner is fish) and consumed his soul-consciousness" (36:10) 713
