Decad:47 Thiruvennbaa (The Sacred Vennbaa) Sub-title: Anainthor-thanmai (The Characteristics of those who have united with the Godhead) (Sung at Thirupperunthurai) Thiru =sacred; Vennbaa is a kind of metre: Anainthor=Those who have united"Thanmai-nature. This decad is called Sacred Vennbaa since it is composed of Nerisai Vennbaa metre. It is made up of 11 verses. The 19th and 48th decads are also of this metre type. “What shall I do if the falsehood will not turn to dust as the body melts so that the two bonds (Karma) may buгп and vanish? I have failed to unite in mind with the perfectly beautiful Lord of Perunthurai, the honey-exuding ruddy Fire”. (47:1) “Who will tell me that it is only the Lord of Perunthurai, the Father Who can make me intoxicated with rapturous Bliss? Oh transcendently supreme One What shall I do? Shall I cry out or wailor dance or sing or watch respectfully?” (47:2) 309
