Thiruwemmbaa However, he deplores in the first verse what could he do as the falsehood (his body) would not turn to dust so that his two cruel bonds (Karma) of the past, both potent and residual, would burn and vanish since he failed to harbour the Lord of Perumthurai in his mind (1). He is pained that he does not know the mistake made by him and the fundamentals of the way of redemption, by worshipping for ever His Feet with his hands (3). It needs clarification why at this stage the saint laments while he is dealing with the nature and characteristics of those who have united with Him in the rest of the verses of this decad. Isi because the saintis perhaps experiencing the same spiritual ecstasy coupled with physical metamorphosis as expressed in the Decad of “I am not yet dead” (23:10) that he, being overwhelmed with all Bliss, is sore distressed? The characteristics of those who have united with the God-head, as contemplated in the sub-title, have been vividly and cogently narrated in the last verse (11): 1. Setting up love in him, 2. Cutting off the link of misery from him, 3. Dispelling the darkness in him and 4. Increasing His Bliss in him, 5. The Lord taking possession of his mind as His city in the form of Effulgence. B17
