Decad-51 Achcho-p-Pathikam Anubava vrazhi Ariaarnai (Not knowing how The Experience came) Abstract: This Decad of Amazement is one of the best decads of Thiruvaachakam. In this Decad the saint exclaims in astonishment mingled with wonder his greatest achievement and good fortune. He narrates that he was laboriously striving hard for salvation (1) and the benefits of righteous things (9). He sings that he was mistaking the path-way which is no path as the right path (2) and the unreality as reality (3) and God bestowed Grace on him that he may not go into the wrong path but reach the sacred path of Grace only (2). The Lord got rid of the bonds of his old Karma fastening to his reasoning mind (1) and bestowed Grace on him to terminate the cycle of death and birth by extirpating his faults and bonds (6.7) of three kinds (9). The Lord taught him the devotional path of loving piety (1) and showed him the path of redemption (7) so that he may reach only the path fo purity (4) and graciously rescued him who was doomed to remain infatuated with the charms of damsels (3,5,6,7,8) and was multiplying his Karma (6). He discloses that he was about to be destined to be born on this earth, to be wearied with life to fall down dead (4) and perish (3) but for Him Who bestowed inconceivable love on him. He taught him not only the wisdom of the state in which one is to die, the state in which one is to take birth and even that spiritual state in which one is not to die at all (10). 352
