Decad: 11 Thiruththellenann Sub-title: civanodu Adaivu (merging in Civan) (sung at Thillai) Thiru = sacred; Thellenam seems to be a kind of sound raised by maidens either by clapping of their hands or by blowing a trumpet. As the maidens are addressed to sing and beatThellenam in the ninth verse it appears to be a play of maidens. The words, “Thellenam Kottaamo” meaning “let us beat Thellenam” occur as a suffix in all the verses of this decad. It is therefore called Thiru-Thellenam. This decad is made up of 20 verses of four lines of Tharavu-Vochchaka Kalippa metre. Like the earlier decad (9) this game of play is sung by a group of maidens. The saint in his bridal mysticism as the bride along with her companions sings the glory of her lover-the Lord-beating Thellenam. -- 417
