of the English word 'Man'. குற்றியலுகரம் is best illustrated by the purely vowel sound in Sanskrit " " "S". The main point that should be borne in mind is that complex sounds are rarer in Tamil than in any other language and therefore this language did not include in its Alphabet all the complex combinations of clementary sounds with cementing particles, although the Tamil letters are so arranged as to be quite sufficient to represent in writing any variety of spoken sound. This truth must be impressed upon all who falsely in ignorance blame Tamil for the so-called lack of sufficient symbols and let them take it into their head that it is Tamil that supplies to us the elements of the Universal Script in the simplest and most scientific manner conceivable. The inimitable beauties of the Tamil Alphabet and the wonderful derivation of the sublime Tamil Script from the symbol in nature of Pranava the root of all the mantrams have received a picturesque delineation at the hands of the intellectual giant Mr. Manickam Naicker in his book on the mystic aspects of the subject.
