சுற்றிக்கட்டுதல் வி. (v.) 1. நீரை வேறு வழியில் திருப்புதல்; to divert water into a new channel. 2. தீச்செயலுக்கான கலந்தாய்வு செய்தல்; சூழ்ச்சி செய்தல் ; to from a conspiracy. சுற்றிக்காட்டுதல் வி. (v.) ஓரிடத்தின் எல்லாப் பகுதிகளையும் பார்ப்பதற்கு உதவுதல்; take some one around. சுற்றித்திரிதல் வி. (v.) குறிப்பிட்ட நோக்கம் எதுவும் இல்லாமல் அங்குமிங்கும் சென்றுவருதல்; அலைந்து திரிதல்; roam, wander.

புறத்தில் முற்றத்தைச் சுற்றி அமைத் திருக்கும் தாழ்வாரப் பகுதி; enclosed verandah around the open space inside the house.
