பதக்கு
பதக்கு பெ. (n.) இரண்டு குறுணி கொண்டதோர் அளவு; a measure of capacity = 2 kuruni. பதக்குப் பதக்கெனல் பெ. (n.) அச்சத்தால் நெஞ்சு துடித்தற் குறிப்பு; expr. signifying throbbing of the heart through fear.
பதங்கமேற்றுதல் வி. (v.) எரித்துப் பதங்கம் எடுத்தல்; to extract essence of drugs by sublimation.
பதங்கமேறுதல் வி. (v.) எரிப்பதனால் ஆவியாகப் படிதல்; being deposited after heating into vapour. பதஞ்செய்தல் வி. (v.) I. பதப்படுத்துதல்; to temper. 2. மென்மையாக்குதல்; to
soften.

பதந்தவறுதல் வி. (v.) நிலையினின்று பக்குவம் நழுவுதல்; to slip down, as from one's position.
பதநீர் பெ. (n.) புளிப்பேறாதபடி, சுண்ணாம்பிடப்பட்ட கலசத் தூளிறக் கிய இனிப்பு தேறல் (கள்); sweet toddy drawn in a pot lined with lime to prevent fermentation.
பதப்படுத்துதல் வி. (v.) 1. பயன் படும்படிச் செய்தல்; to make a thing fit for use. 2. இணக்குதல்; to reconcile. பதப்படுதல் வி. (v.) I. பக்குவப்படுதல்; to be seasoned. 2. பழுத்தல்; to ripen. பதபதத்தல் பெ. (n.) மனம் பரிதவித் தற்குறிப்பு; expr. signifying, trembling of the heart.
பதபதெனல் பெ. (n.) I. ஈரடுக்கொலிக் குறிப்பு; expr.signifying the sound of
water in swift motion or of a storm. 2. நெஞ்சடித்தற்குறிப்பு; the rembling of the heart.

பதம் பார்த்தல் வி. (v.) 1. ஆய்வு செய்தல்; test. 2.காயப்படுத்துதல்; hurt inadvertently. 3. சுவையறிதல்; to try the taste or consistency of boiling rice. 4. விதையிட நிலத்தின் பக்குவம் அறிதல்; to examine the moistness of land in order to ascertain its fitness for sowing. பதமாக்கல் பெ. (n.) 1. பக்குவப்படுத்தல்; making fit. 2. பயன்படும்படிச் செய்தல்; to make use. 3. பக்குவ நிலைக்குக் கொண்டு வருதல்; bringing to perfection.
பதமாய்க் கிளறல் பெ. (n.) இளகியம் முதலிய மருந்துகளைப் பக்குவப் படும்படித் தீயிட்டுக் கிளறுதல்; stiring medicine on fire during preparation till it reaches perfection. பதமாயெரித்தல் பெ. (n.) 1. பக்குவப்படும் படியெரித்தல்; buming or heating so as bring to perfection. 2. அளவுப்படி யெரித்தல்; heating as per prescribed degree.
பதமிடல் பெ. (n.) 1. மருந்து பூசுதல்; rubbing medicine. 2. எண்ணெய்ப் பூசுதல்; anointing with medicated oil to soften the affected part. 3. மெதுவாகும் படிச் செய்தல்; to softer.
