அஞ்சு - அச்சங்கொள், fear, அஞ்சுவது அஞ்சாமை பேதைதமை, Not to fear what ought to be feared is a folly. (T. 428)
அஞ்சுகம் - கிளி, parrot. அஞ்சுகம் செல்லமாக வளர்க்கப்படும் பறவை. Parrot is a pet bird.
அஞ்ஞாத வாசம் - பிறர் அறியாத வண்ணம் மறைந்து வாழ்தல், living in exile, பாண்டவர்கள் ஆறு மாதங்கள் அஞ்ஞாதவாசம் இருந்தனர். The Pandavas lived in exile for six months,
